Malpractices of Professionalism

The meaning of malpractices is very self explanatory. It does reflect that something incorrect is being done or exercised.

There are many kinds of malpractices in existence. In legal term, malpractice is a type of carelessness in which the professional on duty to act, fails to pursue by and large accepted professional standards, and that breach of duty is the possible cause of injury to a plaintiff who undergo the harm.

We have also heard many times about the malpractices in medical field; these include leaving scissors or any operational materials in stomach of the patients. For example, there are several recent complaints of the horrible treatment received by them at the hospital at Travis Air Force Base where an eight year old daughter watched her father die because of a doctor who misdiagnosed a fatal heart state. Such examples and news shows that a doctor who is considered at time as God can be a killer also due to his malpractices. This is negligence of a health provider who does not follow the medical standard and deviates from the care so accurately would have been provided and hence causes serious illness of organs either or death of a person. These medical malpractices are different in various parts of the world depending on the regulations and standards of that part. Malpractice laws are intended to dissuade unsafe medical practice and compensate persons injured through negligence though only a few cases of negligent injuries consequence in claims.

Day by day the malpractice is getting increased in number since last 35-40 years and the most frequent ones are those of medical malpractices wherein generally a surgeon or other specialists perform a great deal of hazards with the patients thus makes their life miserable.

The second place is that of lawyers which follows doctors’ malpractice. After medical malpractices, legal malpractices achieve the rank to compete. Under legal misconducts many errors are found that build a common legal negligence. At times, it has been seen that those who do not possess accurate skills of a lawyer, also consider themselves a lawyer and that becomes the reason for the clients to suffer with harassment, disloyalty, non-integrity etc…

Another professional malpractice is that of church or clergy who hurts the emotions of the followers by not just being and behave in the manner they should do so. The standard of church should not violate the rules made for such institutions. We, in past years have heard the news of rape case involving church authority, which is nothing but more than a malpractice.

As mentioned earlier the malpractices in different professions have only increased over the years and there must be a stop to all these malpractices to reduce the risks of victims and increase the faith in the professional attitude else there shall only be ‘bads’ and no ‘goods’.

Malpractices of a Knowledge Provider

Malpractice in common terms of simple understanding is to exercise wrong either or bad exercise but the various dictionary has many meanings to this word. The literary meanings of malpractices are negligence or misbehavior by an expert & specialized people such as teacher, lawyer, doctor, architect, etc.
The misconduct can be in any form. It can be either teaching unethical things to students by a teacher, treating a patient with expired medicines used injection needles or preparing unconventional drawings of a building infrastructure.
Malpractices show that people across the world are such an animal that they can get into misconduct intentionally or unintentionally without realizing the consequences of the mistakes. Here we will take and elaborate the misconduct or a malpractice of a teacher a knowledge provider does not understand the consequences of his malpractices which can be a great drawback to his student in coming future. It is said that a child student becomes the future of the country. If he receives good knowledge from his teacher he will grow as a good human being with ethics and etiquettes that will reflect the positivity of the personality but if he accepts whatever is given to him by his knowledge provider during malpractices knowingly or unknowingly he will grow with those information and chances will be more him to become a bad element of negative attitude which result into creating odd things for the society. A teacher if indulged in malpractices can only create enemies of the society and we can never expect any great people who created mile-stone and became the history in the world.
For example we have been hearing so much about terrorism and have seen devastated result of 1993 World Trade Tower tragedy of USA, the Parliament attack by the terrorists and the most recent one of attack on Taj hotel of Mumbai which killed so many lives and left many injured and handicapped. These are the consequences of wrong teaching by the religious leaders teachers who try to feed the mind of youngsters with negative feelings that they are neglected community of society and no steps have been taken for upliftment of their community by large and encourage them to get involve in those activities which can create destruction and damage the lives hugely. The sufferer of such activities, by no means are responsible for their ill fate or anything of that sort but who understands that. The teachings are such that those who get into terror acts do not think about children, old people, women or any human being’s life. By citing above example the emphasis is on malpractices of the teacher who are considered the most important people of the society who create the intelligent future of any country.  The malpractices of teachers can be in other act also such as falling into an affair with student. The live example of this was a story a couple years back from Patna where an old married professor got involved with a girl student of almost or may be of her daughter’s age. The wife and family members of that professor had to suffer due to this act of the professor and his students. The society made fun of this act and it created mess amongst olds and youngsters. Hence the intention of giving this kind of example is only to prove that misconducts by teacher for students do not get appreciated by anyone and it only proves that such malpractices or negligence produces dreadful results and set bad example.
Even treating student badly is considered malpractices of the teacher. Whether that treatment may be in any form such as shouting at students, beating them, un-necessarily harassing them for some reason or the other at all.
Therefore, the point here to discuss the malpractice of a teacher is drawing an attention of the readers to such an important and sensitive issue of malpractices of the teacher or knowledge provider.
